Wendy’s will offer free fries every Friday through the end of the year

Wendy’s is making it a lot harder to stick to your summer diet.

The fast-food chain has announced that starting Friday, April 19, it will give out a free order of French fries with every purchase made through its app. The promotion will be repeated every Friday through the end of the year.

This isn’t just a kiddie-sized or small fries, either. The company says it will offer any size for free.

“Fans deserve a pick-me-up after a long week – Wendy’s is answering the call with fries that deliver,” the company said in a statement.

To order the fries, just log in to the Wendy’s app (or place an order via the company’s Website). The offer can be added to the order from there.

Fries are just the latest free food offering for the company. Earlier this month, select locations in several states gave visitors a card offering one free breakfast sandwich per week for a year. The company is also embracing new delivery methods, launching a pilot drone-delivery system in Christiansburg, Virginia, in partnership with DoorDash and Wing drone deliveries last month.

Wendy’s is still on the PR defensive from a misunderstanding of its February announcement that it planned to introduce dynamic pricing, where it would lower the cost of some menu items in non-peak periods. Many equated the dynamic pricing wording with the surge pricing model of Uber and Lyft, which hike prices (often considerably) during times of high demand.

The restaurant said that was never its plan and it has put all dynamic-pricing plans on hold for at least a year.
